Lassi Urpilainen Memorial

Lassi Urpilainen was a well-known strongman during his life and lives on in legends. Urpilainen lived in the 18th century, and it is said that he killed 36 bears. During the Great Northern War (1713-1721), he is said to have single-handedly ousted Russian enemies on Kangaskylä’s Karkausmäki.
